statement for magazine.

As Media: Magazine Production

Aims: to write a short statement about your music magazine.
1. the genre of music
2. alternative or mainstream
3. target audience
4. stylistic influences
5. who will feature on front cover
6. name of magazine

The genre of music I’ll be using will be clubbing/Dance music and it will be a mainstream magazine called Firelores. I will be aiming for a target audience around the ages of 18 to 25, male and female. I have been influenced mainly by Mixmag but also D.J. this is because of the colours and strong bold images they use as well as the way they grab the audience’s attention. On the front cover I want one male Singer, who is called Parrow; he was discovered after working as a free lance D.J in local clubs and bars as a teen and into his 20’s. Parrow is now 23 with his first number one album -released last year - of chart songs mixed with his iconic beats under his belt, as well as being nominated four times for several awards, winning two of them, an award for ‘best mixed number one’ and ‘ coolest ambassador’.

He’s now back after a year of hard work on his eagerly awaited second album, which nearly didn’t make it because of Parrow falling out of clubs and getting into trouble. However he’s recently had a change of heart and slowed down on the party life to be ambassador of a local community group for young D.J’s designed to get kids off the street.

Parrow is a made-up character.
I want him to have sunglasses on to give the feel that he is famous; I want him to wear bright ‘label’ clothing and maybe a cap or hat. I want mixed shots of him with some standing and sat or knelt.
